Dr. Ruth Pfau was a German nun who traveled to Pakistan with the will and passion to help those in need.
In 1960, she decided that she wanted to help those suffering from leprosy in Pakistan, after visiting a leprosy colony in Karachi. She dedicated fifty years of her life in trying to combat the disease in Pakistan. Her hard work eventually led to the formation of The Marie Adelaide Leprosy Centre.
Pakistanis have been left absolutely heartbroken after learning about her death. They have taken to social media to express their grief over the matter.
