You have over a day left. Only a little time to prepare for the battles that lie ahead, for winter is coming. This Sunday (or Monday morning really) marks the highly anticipated return of the mammoth Game Of Thrones after a year of an unfortunate hiatus. Our favorite characters we’ve fallen ardently in love with will return to grace our screens, as they fight for justice in a pinnacle battle to seize the iron throne in what’s set to be a thrilling penultimate season of all seasons. Are you ready? Prepare yourself for all that’s to come.
So where did the season 6 finale leave our beloved characters?
It’s been a long one year since Game Of Thrones left us. Now that it’s back, it’s worth delving into where everyone is before we set out to sail for season 7.
Tyrion Lannister swore his allegiance to Daenerys Targaryen and has proven faithful to her as Hand Of The Queen, so we’re hoping to see more prowess from both forces
Their blossoming friendship is very touching, so let’s hope we see more of this cackling duo
Daenerys meanwhile is ready to unleash havoc with her trusty dragons as she sets sail to Westeros, to claim her throne
With the help of not just Tyrion, but her two loyal Dothraki companions, Missandei and Greyworm
Cersei Lannister, the woman we love to hate is now Queen of the Seven Kingdoms
After she blew up The Great Sept of Baelor, killing her daughter-in-law and Queen Margaery
Her son, King Tommen plunged to his death after witnessing the virescent firestorm and his wife succumbing to the engulfment
Cersei’s brother Jaimie arrived back in King’s Landing just in time to witness it all, and with his own plagued mind full of troubles, will he support Cersei after all the atrocities she pulled?
The lion-hearted Brienne of Tarth bid Jaimie a hearty farewell at Riverrun before rowing away with her unfailing squire Podrick – that was the last we saw of her
Jaimie, with the menacing Walder Frey (the man behind the Red Wedding), were both seizing Riverrun from the Blackfish as Brienne left.
Who knows, they might even bump into the lovely Gendry, who we haven’t seen since season 3

Jon Snow is unanimously made King Of The North (finally) and we also learned that Jon is actually a Targaryen
He was the son of Lyanna Stark (Ned Stark’s sister) and Rhaegar Targaryen who was Daenerys’s brother.
This revelation unravels through Bran’s visions, who is now the three-eyed raven who’s finally reached the wall with Meera
Jon has at long last reunited with sister Sansa, who both seize Winterfell from Ramsay Bolton
After Sansa feeds her rapist to his own hounds
Littlefinger has his eyes on kinghood and with his wish to have Sansa as his queen, he won’t be giving up too quickly
The valiant Arya Stark is now a more striking Faceless Man than the Faceless Man himself. She sought delicious vengeance (literally) by killing Walder Frey after serving him his churned-up sons for a meat pie
Lex Talionis in the finest form
We now come to the Greyjoys, who have coalesced with Daenerys, promising her their swarm of ships to aid her in battle so long as Daenerys bestows upon them independence to assert authority over the Iron Islands
So what does the exhilarating season 7 have in its fiery grasps for everyone?
WARNING – SPOILERS!
Well, for one Daenerys and her dragons will come face to face with the Lannisters – the poster fits in with a scene in the trailer
Which teases with a glimpse of Jamie Lannister riding across a blazing wasteland
The first episode is called ‘Dragonstone,’ the home of Daenerys Targaryen
The official HBO descriptions for three episodes have been released, with the first one reading, ‘Jon organizes the defense of the North. Cersei tries to even the odds. Daenerys comes home.’
The second is called ‘Stormborn’
‘Daenerys receives an unexpected visitor. Jon faces a revolt. Tyrion plans the conquest of Westeros.’
And the third episode is ‘The Queen’s Justice’
‘Daenerys holds court. Cersei returns a gift. Jaimie learns from his mistakes.’
Arya Stark’s dire wolf Nymeria…
Or Jon Snow’s Ghost might be returning, according to the sound designer for the show
She told audiences at a Con Of Thrones panel, “I’ve done all the dire wolf stuff and there’s a beautiful scene in this season that I’m very proud of.”
Jon will have a monumental confrontation with the White Walkers once more
While Brienne and Podrick will arrive at Winterfell
Tyrion will be looking forward to quite the awkward encounter with his siblings as he arrives in Westeros with Daenerys
Peter Dinklage told EW, “He’s returning home, and returning home a new person…he has Dany and the dragons on his side but he is a very different person than when he left this place. And he’s returning to a brother he loves and a sister he dot dot dot.”
Jon Snow will be meeting Queen Daenerys in an unknown location, perhaps King’s Landing or in Dragonstone
The trailer had Jon Snow in warmer weather, so that too heightens theories around the possibility.
Sibling rivalry will be more profound in season 7, with Jon and Sansa in definitive power struggle
Jon and Sansa had successfully removed Ramsay from rule and retook their home, however, Littlfinger has had his eyes on kinghood for quite a while, and will continue to play devil’s advocate to Sansa, who was promised Queen before Jon was unanimously voted in as King.
Are you excited about the premiere? Make sure you’re prepared for the thrill of a lifetime.
