7 year old Zainab has captured Pakistan’s attention. Sadly it isn’t for reasons that would make any normal human being even remotely satisfied.

Zainab was brutally raped and murdered in Kasur, then left in a pile of garbage

All this happened while little Zainab’s parents were away on Umrah.

The whole country has been rattled ever since news of the brutal injustice to Zainab surfaced

#JusticeForZainab has been a top trend on Twitter in Pakistan ever since the news broke and people from all walks of life are asking for swift action to be taken regarding this inhumane act.

Kasur, the place where this incident happened, is also a top trend.

Incidentally, Kasur has been in the news recently because of a ring of child pornographers and mass abuse that was carried out against children from the area. Sadly, those abusers were allegedly protected by “influential people”, hence they’re still at large.

Now, footage of what appears to be Zainab and her murderer has surfaced

Many people are pointing out how the criminal seems to be someone Zainab knew

Based on the comfort level and lack of her making any apparent gestures or expression that can give the idea that she may be reacting to being abducted.

The surfacing of the CCTV footage has taken a severe effect on many people

Here’s hoping that relevant authorities will take notice of this and actually decide to act on this to make sure at least this criminal is brought to justice to, at least, ensure Zainab’s family can see their daughter’s story find closure.
