So if you haven’t heard, Careem recently began heavily promoting their services. How, You may ask? Well by putting a ‘rishta aunty’ in the front seat of every Careem of course! The campaign was very successful and customers all over the country were eager to find out what all the fuss was about.

Everyone was talking about the Careem Rishta Ride (including us, lolsy)

But things really got interesting when Careem launched another advertisement, recently

Acha rishta and pizza? Safe to say Careem pretty much won us over.

But shortly afterwards, Pizza Hut came up with a response denying any collaboration with the cab service

Careem, and the rest of us got a bit of a rude awakening when Pizza Hut gave us a nice little piece of information.

Pizza Hut? More like Pizza Hurt.

And you know what was worse? People actually went to Pizza Hut for the happiness Careem promised, only to be disappointed:

Haye.

It seems that the ‘collaboration’ between Pizza Hut and Careem was not internally confirmed and resulted in a bit of a PR mess. Guess this is one rishta Careem couldn’t quite manage to fix. We’re still waiting on our 20% but until then, let’s just remember the fact that Careem literally put a rishta aunty in a car.
