Bilal Ashraf took the whole country by storm after the trailer for Janaan was released. Who was this intensely good-looking guy and where had he been all this time? He then came in a photo shoot which made people go cray, all over again. But then, there wasn’t much we knew about him. While it’s hard to go past that baritone voice and those smoldering eyes, there is so much more to Bilal Ashraf than meets the eye.
And there’s a lot that meets the eye, even if it’s just him being angry
And because we are, well I am, completely smitten by the man, here’s more about him:
1. He’s a double major in Accounting and Art
With a minor in Psychology from Franklin and Marshall.
2. He worked as a hedge fund consultant in New York
Cash me ousside, how bou dah? (please?)
3. He never planned on joining the entertainment industry anywhere in the world
Can you imagine what a loss that would have been to the industry?
4. He quit his job in New York and moved to London to study animation and visual effects
His sister was the one who persuaded him into actually pursuing his passion.
5. 10 years later, he moved to Pakistan ad set up a company of his own
The company was called Radical Films, where he worked with his sister on documentaries and television commercials.
6. He went through a really rough patch in life
Losing a loved one is never easy. Especially if it’s someone who turned your life around. The strength with which he fought back and got back up on his feet is incredibly inspiring, to say the least.
7. Janaan was not his debut film
He made a cameo appearance in O21 alongside Gohar Rasheed and Ayaz Samoo
8. He’s also incredibly good looking
9. He’s as good at heart as he is in everything else he does
10. His next film is coming up pretty, pretty soon
Yalghaar is all set for release very very soon, and we can’t wait. Directed by Hassan Rana, the movie also stars Shaan, Humayun Saeed, Adnan Siddiqui, Armeena Khan, Aleeze, Ayesha Omer, and Sana Bucha.
11. He’s also seemingly great with kids
I hope that seeing so much of Bilal Ashraf’s face made your day, because it sure did mine!
