Rafiya Murtaza from ‘Zindagi Gulzar Hai’ was a gem of a mother. She was conventional, beautifully calm and always warm. Her optimism was a far cry from her daughter Kashaf’s pessimistic nature – someone who couldn’t help live in a dark little bubble of gloominess dwindling her horizons. Her mother never gave up on her, and always unfailingly bestowed upon her words to abide by, forming a quiet backbone throughout all of Kashaf’s endeavors as a young adult facing the usual hurdles we all do.
