NOTE: If you’re not a beard fan, this post is not for you.

Not everyone’s blessed with facial hair – let alone a well grown and properly maintained daari. Although facial hair growth is mostly dependent on your genes, there are a few desi totkay which can enhance its growth and help you maintain your daari properly.

  • 2 teaspoons castor oil
  • 7-8 curry leaves

What hurts more than a slow-growing patchy beard is an almost perfect beard – you’re almost there but not quite. This is mainly because the shape of the beard you have is not on terms with the shape you want.

Ingredients:

  • Zaitoon oil or Coconut oil

How to use it:

Massage your beard area with zaitoon oil or coconut oil three times a week.

Let’s try to soften things up

Now that you’ve finally decided to give in to the greatness of the beard you will soon realize that it is actually quite a hard job especially because in the early stages beards can be very rough and make your skin itch. You need to soften your beard (yes softening the beards is an actual thing and a very important one as it helps you shape it too.)

Ingredients:

  • Aloe Vera gel

How to use it:

Massage your beard with aloe vera gel at least twice a day until it gets to the softness you prefer.

Shaping things up

Mustaches are almost like the Robin to your Batman. One of the easiest ways to shape your mustache is to use the petroleum jelly daily to shape it the way you want. This might take some time but don’t give up.

Ingredients:

  • Petroleum Jelly

How to use it:

Apply the jelly on the mustache area in the shape you want them to be before sleeping.

Maintenance bhi zaroori hai

If you’ve had a beard for a long time you’ll know that there comes a time your mustache stops having the same level of thickness as your beard and it can be extremely frustrating. So, in order to get your mustache to the appropriate level of thickness apply malai. Yes, MALAI, doodh wali malai. You’ll observe that it can be awfully beneficial.

Ingredients:

  • Malai (doodh wali)

How to use it:

Apply malai on your mustache on a regular basis until it gets to the level of thickness you desire.
