Molding yourselves into adults is an awfully tough transition. I miss the days of my bachpana when everything was so wonderfully simple.
No rules, no responsibilities, and literally zero f**** given, those were the good ol’ days.
1. Play ground encounters that you dreaded at the time but now realize they weren’t so bad.
2. The fact that there was no rishta talk.
Those were the prime bachpan ke din.
3. The excitement over a highly anticipated trip to the shops.
Dora The Explorer backpacks and Power Rangers pencil cases and a whole lotta books.
4. After school snacks that you just couldn’t have enough of.
Cocomo mixed with milk were a go-to…
As were Rio biscuits.
Calories never counted back then.
5. Family trips to McDonald’s.
The play area was a cozy sanctuary where only children ruled.
6. …and ALL THE HAPPY MEALS.
7. How about those damn cute toys?
8. The joy of getting a brand new set of coloring pens to destroy.
9. Disney movie marathons while you cuddled with your parents.
(I still do it, but ya kno)
10. School punishments.
Your bachpan wasn’t a bachpan worth living without teacher ki bisti.
11. Making forts out of books.
12. Going to the video stores to buy movies.
The kids won’t know the joy of actually going to a store to buy movies.
13. You could hold the opposite sex’s hand without being judged.
….and you could totally play with them while alone.
14. MSN Messenger and how you stalked your teenage crushes before Facebook.
15. School games.
16. Glow in the dark stickers for your bedroom walls.
17. Toy cars you’d drive in the garden and around the house.
No life-threatening accidents either. That was the life.
18. And the joy of living a carefree life
What are some things you miss about your bachpan?
