Atif Aslam just dropped a heart-wrenching music video about a couples’ ups and downs, LITERALLY a day before Valentine’s Day, when I’m pretty sure I’m advocating on behalf of all us hopeless romantics that this will plummet us into a state of sad nostalgia and dramatic ‘looking out the window’ escapades.
Atif’s always known to sing songs about ishq, (I mean, there is very little else to sing about), and his latest track, which by the way is called “BAARISHEIN” just to add to the depth of heartache with rain being the premise of most.
So the song naturally begins with a voiceover by ‘Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety’s’ actress Nushrat Bharucha saying she doesn’t know where or how things went wrong between her character and Atif’s.
…And thus begins an incredibly desolate Atif rewatching a video he took of her in the happier moments of their lives together.
OH, AND HE’S LOOKING OUT THE WINDOW WHILE IT’S RAINING (told you).
Nushrat looks gorgeous…
And Atif too as they frolic on a beach and then get a little intimate on a very aesthetically pleasing balcony.
The song is lovely, I mean come on it’s Atif Aslam – but did he really have to release such a profoundly bleak song a day before the most romantic day of the year?
Fans from both India and Pakistan praised the song nonetheless because despite it being a heart-ripper, it is quite the ballad.
Here’s the full music video.
What did you think about the song?
