While Pakistani singers have long fully integrated themselves within Indian cinema, Pakistani actors have been harder to gnaw into the cut-throat industry. Fawad Khan is unarguably the most successful Pakistani veteran to have blossomed fabulously in Tinseltown, with a number of big production house films under his belt. Mahira Khan, Saba Qamar and Sajal Ali have all made their thrilling debuts in the industry, however, when a ban was implemented on our artists working across the border, it severed ties between the two nations.
Bollywood actor Arjun Rampal spoke to Express Tribune regarding what he had to say about Pakistanis working with Indian actors
He relayed how the severing of ties was “unfortunate,” and was saddened by the current state of affairs. He said “artists are messengers of peace and love. Telling stories and entertaining is what they’re meant to do. when you curb that and stop that kind of interaction, it’s very heartbreaking. It should not happen. I just hope politics stay away…Pakistani and Indian artists should be able to stay away…Pakistani and Indian artists should be able to work together.”
