It was recently reported that a cleric beat up a child so brutally that he succumbed to his injuries. The police arrested the cleric for questioning, where he admitted to beating up the child

The parents refused to press any charges against him because of his stature. However, the police force was adamant on pressing charges against him on behalf of the state. This is because corporal punishment is absolutely unacceptable.

It was later revealed that the mother had allowed the cleric to beat the child

However, that in no way means that the cleric had no clue that beating that an eight year old this much can lead to his death.

A reporter was interviewing the cleric but people seemed have problems with her questioning the religious figure rather than what he had done

The family has decided to grant pardon to the cleric because they believe that their son passed away for God

That belief is also up for question because beating a child to death is nothing but brutality. If someone passes away like that, it should only be seen as torture and not something to be proud of at all. There should be no pardon in such cases because innocent lives are lost. The reporter is not the one at fault here rather those covering up for the cleric. No one should be allowed to exercise their authority in a manner that terrorizes people and takes away lives.
