17 Things You Will Definitely Relate To If You're A Girl Who's Always The Bro And Never The Bae

By Sarah Babar | 9 May, 2017

If you’re always the bro but never the bae you’re a special breed. You get along with guys, guys love hanging out with you, you’re their confidante, but it never really goes beyond that, does it? You can be their wingwomen, their best friends, the loves of their lives, but it just doesn’t break the boundaries. And while men keep whining over the fact that they’re in the friendzone all the time, guess what? It’s just as bad for ladies like you, as well. And contrary to your beliefs, people like us don’t really like being in the brozone.

So ladies, here is almost everything us “bros” go through while we’re in the deep dark pits of the brozone:

1. Guys love hanging out with you and being your friend

You are what you are and they don’t have to impress you or be someone else when you’re around.

2. And they will come to you for their relationship problems

Whether their girl said something to them or she’s not talking to them at all, you’re going to be up all night listening to them go on and on and on about it.

3. They will also come to you for their bachi issues

Yaaaaaar bachi mil nai rahi. Yar dekh tau liya hai lekin aagey ka boloun? Shit she’s looking here. What do I do? What do I do?

4. They won’t have a filter around you

They don’t care what they say around you. From gaaliyan to scrutinizing every aspect of girls in the crudest way possible.

5. They will constantly ask you to set them up with your friends

Yaar upni dost se baat kera do. I swear I’ll send you screenshots. Please yaar. Bhai ho gi…

6. You hate introducing your friends to them

Because you know what is going to happen once you do.

7. They always want you to meet their girlfriend

Because every girl in their lives has to pass your test, and even if she doesn’t it’s okay. She’s not going anywhere.

8. You’ve had to be friends with countless girls for them

There’s always that one girl who doesn’t talk to guys and you have to befriend her so your friend can get in, as well. Like it or not, you’re the one that has to do it.

9. They will always tell you they’d love to date someone like you but they never actually ask you out

You’re fun, easy to talk to, you make guys comfortable. Of course, they’d want to date someone like you…just not you.

10. You have heard ‘upne jesi hi koi dhoond do’ way too many times

Because you have to go to the ends of the world to find your doppleganger, but they’ll be blind to your entire existence sitting right there.

11. You’ve actually set them up with a girl or two

Voluntarily, involuntarily, you really don’t have a choice when it comes to setting your friends up. You don’t like it one bit, but after their constant annoying insistence, you’ve taken the plunge once or twice, and vowed to never let it happen again, every single time.

12. There will be so many people telling you that you guys ‘belong together’

You’re always together, he takes away the tomatoes from your plate and you eat the lettuce from his. You finish each other’s sentences. You’re practically inseparable. You have to check with him before making any decisions, and so does he.

13. Girls will hate your guts, btw

God forbid your friend’s good looking (because you always end up making friends with the best looking men around), girls will either flock around you to get closer to him, or just silently hate your guts.

14. You can’t even tell your friend if you start liking them

That’s a big no. Because even if you try giving them subtle hints, they’ll squirrel away from the topic faster than you can say you were mistaken. But hey, y’all can still be friends, no?

15. There is a lot of physical contact involved

But it’s restricted to slaps, high fives, and hair noogies. And you’ve begun to hate terms like Kosher and platonic relationships…

16. They drive away any man you have the slightest chance with because they’re possessive of you like a bro

No man is ever good enough for you. This man just isn’t for you. Ladies, welcome to a life of being forever alone in the bhaizone.

17. You’ve lost count of all the times they’ve called you their bro/brother/bhai jesi

Honorary mention: you sit there cursing your kismet as they walk away with their girl telling you they’ll ‘text you’

And if they ever ask you to join in, you know you have to ‘politely decline’ because of your silent codes and all.

If you can relate to any or all of the above, congratulations, meri behnoun, you’re in the brozone. Have you ever been in the bhaizone, girls?
