Adnan Siddiqui's Heartfelt Tribute To His Late Father Is For Everyone Who's Lost Someone They Love

By Iman Zia | 2 Oct, 2017

Losing someone you love, well there isn’t anything more aching, and nothing that leaves you more hollow. The death of a loved one seeps a grief like no other, and time is nothing but a compartment to wallow what one might mistake for is healing. Actor Adnan Siddiqui lost his father two years ago and remembered him in an incredibly touching tribute.

Adnan took to Instagram in an essayed post dedicated to his father on his ‘second death anniversary’

The actor vowed to better himself, and live a life his father would have been proud of, through an ‘honor[ing]’ all that he was. From ‘reading and writing’ to his children, to ‘continuing [his] passion for Urdu poetry,’ Adnan relayed just how loving his father was and ended the ardently rich tribute on a very positive note; the only way to truly cherish someone once they’ve left, is to live a life that would make them proud.

It's Papa's second death anniversary today. I miss him, but increasingly, I want to honour him, and his memory. I want to honour him by continuing to better myself in thought and action. I want to honour him by opening up a life of reading and writing to my kids. A life where my kids bring me their notebooks, or stand in front of me, chest proud and eyes twinkling, to read their essays. I want to honour him by continuing my own passion for Urdu poetry. I don't share my poetry with the world (I already share a lot of myself :)) but I want to continue writing it till whenever the inspiration stays. It is a small but important thing I do for myself. I want to him honour him by continuing to love. And loving not just people. I want to continue loving my work, loving life, loving music. Papa lived to 90, and he lived a rich, full life by God's grace. May we all live to accumulate many happy moments.
