Female police officer Aisha Butt brought her child to work and it’s begun a necessary debate.
Being a working mother in Pakistan is an extreme sport. With the lack of facilities in Pakistan, managing motherhood and one’s work-life becomes even more difficult. However, there are some strong women who try to balance the two. We also previously saw a similar situation with a member of the Provincial Assembly of Balochistan, Mahjabeen Sheran, who faced a lot of backlash for bringing her son to the session.
Recently, female police officer, Aisha Butt, shared a picture of her with her child, while she was at work with the caption, “It’s difficult but not impossible.”

A fellow female police officer and badass boss in her own right appreciated the exemplary model being presented
Somewhere in central Punjab, a mother is setting an excellent example for her daughter. https://t.co/aTnXogMQqQ

People came forward to praise the female police officer for being an exceptional inspiration, not compromising on either work or her motherhood
To be a mother carrying her baby does not restrict her to perform her professional duties. Respect for this mother and police officer for setting an inspiring example.

However, people pointed out how daycare center facilities should be provided to women
She must have a babysitter for her child and don't let her personal life come in the way of duty. A mother should do job, and its appreciable but this isn't professional at all. IMO

There were also concerns regarding the health and safety of the child
But as professional kids not allowed during work . Health and safety issues 🙏

This is just wrong, a kid should never be exposed to such a dangerous environment. Request for police dept to have a day care for such mothers.
— Hassan Khan (@hassanaltafkh) November 22, 2019
People urged the Government of Punjab to take into account such cases and provide female working mothers with the facility of daycare centers for their children
It shouldn't be. Govt of Punjab has mandated child care for female employees. The police needs to comply

Undoubtedly, this is a brave and exceptional move of the police officer to handle both lives in a truly exemplary manner. However, should this be looked up to as an ideal standard that everyone should achieve, given that it involves a lot of hidden and unnecessary struggles that women have to face?
