11 Old Pakistani Dramas You Can Binge Watch, Other Than Alpha Bravo Charlie

Old Pakistani dramas were just a world apart from the dramas we see nowadays. These shows had soul, substance and wholesome stories. Apart from the scripting, the acting talent ‘back then’ was just impossible to hate- lines were delivered so perfectly and don’t get me started on comedic timing was just on point.

Also, before we get into this list, it must be clarified that we LOVE ‘Alpha Bravo Charlie‘.

1. Aangan Terha” 

This show features Bushra Ansari, Shakeel, and Salim Nasir. The comedy revolves the daily life of a retired man, his wife and the household help, whose true passion was to be a dancer. You can only imagine the laughs.

2. “Dhoop Kinaray”

The iconic Marina Khan stars in this drama. The storyline follows a team of doctors in Karachi, the madness of working in a hospital and the madness of their personal lives.

3. “Family Front” 

One of Pakistan’s most iconic cast sets; Saba Hamid, Samina Ahmed, and Waseem Abbas feature in this HILARIOUS comedy.

4. “Ankahi” 

Another comedy, more like, drama-comedy, ‘Ankahi’ featured the story of a girl who wants to be rich, but fortune doesn’t side with her since her father passes away when she’s young.

5. “Teen Bata Teen” 

This drama by funnyman, Adeel Hashmi, will most definitely leave you in fits.

6. “Guest House” 

This comedy show features a family who owns a guest house, and their struggles, dealing with guests and their overly chirpy employees.

7. “Tanhaiyan” 

Whenever one thinks about old, iconic Pakistani dramas, this name pops up. ‘Tanhaiyan’ was a classic Pakistani drama that cannot be watched enough times.

8. “Nijaat” 

This drama follows the lives of rural women and the lives of urban women and was an attempt to raise awareness on matters of family planning.

9. “Khuda Ki Basti” 

PTV named this drama the ‘mother of all serials’. This is an adaption of a popular novel by Shaukat Siddiqui by the same name. Also, it is reported that Faiz Ahmed Faiz himself, sat on the council that overlooked the adaptation of this novel into a drama.

10. “Taleem E Balighaan” 

Pakistani playwrights loved political satires and had honed the art of writing them. This is one drama that is a testament to that fact.

This drama focuses on the dynamics and the politics of the feudal system in Pakistan.

All of these dramas are available on Youtube, however, do keep in mind that the quality of these videos can vary due to all the time between their production and them being converted to a digital format.
