What's With All the Blackouts Pakistan is Suddenly Going Through?

By Sarmad Amer | 29 Jan, 2016

It isn’t Summer season yet and Pakistani cities are already hit with major blackouts. These blackouts aren’t even hourly, they are actual massive breakdowns of power in these cities. Recently Islamabad and large parts of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa including major cities like Lahore and Peshawar wee faced with a major blackout that lasted for more than 6 hours(much more than that in some areas).

It’s Karachi’s time now

The largest city of Pakistan, the hub of commerce and beaches in Pakistan, the once roshniyoun ka shehr is suffering from a blackout for the past several hours.

Reasons for the power failure are the same as Punjab/Khyber Pakhtunkhwa breakdown

While this time there is “disruption” at the Hub-Jamshoro line, the other break was caused by problems with the Guddu Barrage.

And people are definitely not taking it silently

They’re angry

And frustrated

They have questions

Some of them are making lemonade out of their lemons

While others had very different experiences

And there is good news too

But this person had the biggest struggle of all due to the blackout
