This Pakistani Man Beat Up His Wife In Front Of Everyone And No One Came To Help Her

Domestic abuse in Pakistan is often seen as “mian biwi ka apas ka mamla“. This is one of the reasons why people do not generally interfere when they witness an incident of domestic abuse.

A Twitter user took to the platform to narrate an incident of domestic abuse that people witnessed outside her campus

She narrates that a woman got out of a Careem in front of her college and started asking people for help. Moments later her husband got out of another car and started beating her up. This happened in front of a number of people but the man just went ahead with it.

Since it happened in front of a university, one automatically expects people to be a little more educated and intervene. However no one moved. The boys who wanted to help were stopped by someone saying that it’s family matter

Do you think ye ghar ka mamla hai when the guy is beating her publicly? What if he beat her to death? Would that push you to intervene?

If we don’t help each other then who will? Who will stand up for us and who will make the society better?

A lot of people started commenting on how distressing the situation is

One user also commented that the woman had committed suicide but the news is not verifiable yet

Before I tell you that the incident was wrong, I want to tell you that I know that there are two sides to a story

However, that in no way justifies that someone starts beating the other. No human on this planet has the right to do that. If someone thinks they do, they should be stopped right there and handed to the court of law. It is not ok to exercise your physical power over someone just because you can. The country needs to get rid of such filthy mentality.
