This Comic Book Thinks Pakistanian is Pakistan's National Language

By Ali Ahsan | 6 Jan, 2016

DC Comics, the same one that brought you Batman, Superman, the Flash, Aquaman, Wonder Woman, just showed it’s level of ignorance. As this comic book enthusiast concludes, this is probably one of the reasons Marvel is dominating DC at the moment.

Seriously though, how lazy can you be?

As Pakistani comedian Kumail Nanjiani points out, this could easily have been avoided by a simple Google search. After all, we do live in the 21st century…

And as expected, more people from around Twitter started chiming in.

As we did some more digging, it turns out DC Comics isn’t the only one guilty of this.

It seems people had been using the phrase “Pakistanian” before this debacle happened.

The level of ignorance is too damn high.

But this guy had a very logical argument.

Regardless, it doesn’t give DC Comics an excuse.

When you’re a publisher as large as DC Comics, the least you can do is verify cultural facts. For many people, this comic will be the first time they learn anything about Pakistan and thanks to DC, those people will assume the national language of Pakistan is actually “Pakistanian.”

We expected better from you Superman.

After all, you’re not from Earth. Of all people, you should have a better understanding of different cultures. #crushedfanboy
