Here's What Everyone Thinks About Lahore's Latest Addition To Public Transportation

By Sajeer Shaikh | 2 Jun, 2017

So yesterday news about the ropeways transport system that’s being introduced to Lahore started doing the rounds

Shehbaz Sharif, the Chief Minister of Punjab, has asked for a report on the feasibility of the installation of this system. An international company has apparently shown interest in the project and is willing to work alongside the Punjab government. The areas that will be facilitated are from Imamia Colony to the Railway Station, Jehangir Tomb to Greater Iqbal Park and Mor to Thokar Niaz Baig. There will also be one that will facilitate transport from Islamabad to Murree.

As soon as the news about this ropeways transport system broke out, a discussion began around it.

Some considered the project to be “iconic”

Some were ready to pack their bags and change cities

However, a lot of people were dissatisfied

They believed this was yet another “blunder”

Some pointed out how other issues were not being given much attention

This particular concern was voiced more than once

Some called it “showbazi”

Others seemed to be put off by the project

Some pointed out how other cities were being ignored

They really weren’t too happy about the rest of the cities being ignored

Now that this is a huge possibility in the near future, all we can do is hope for the best. Do you think this will help people move around more efficiently? Or do you think it’s a total waste of time and money? Let us know what you think about this project in the comments below.
