When the going gets tough, you resort to your ‘problem solving’ friend to make everything seem better. The Problem Solver is always going to be there for you. They’ll be your pillar of strength and they also probably know more than you do about your feelings when you have that breakup. Basically, this friend is your go-to in every situation. You’ve cried, screamed and thrown a fit of rage in front of them. They’ve seen it all.
But have you ever thought of what life is like as the ‘Problem Solver’ Friend?
No. of course you didn’t, because you only care about yourself!
Their heart skips a beat when friends message them saying, “I need to talk to you”
A million scenarios run over in their head, kya hua, kis ne kiya and most importantly, “how do I deal with the situation”.
They probably wanted to sleep early but a friend needs them at 1AM so they’re always there
When you’re a problem solving friend, you’re more than happy to help out. Sometimes that means saying bye to your plans to be a responsible adult, because you love your friend more than sleep itself.
They feel genuinely disappointed when they aren’t able to help you out
They feel so useless as a friend when they just don’t know what to say.
They will get more frustrated at the situation than the friend actually living through it
Yup, that’s their level of emotional investment in your problems. Sometimes all they want to do is physically remove the person or halaat that are causing their dost all that pain and suffering. Sigh, uff yeh zindagi.
They will keep all your deepest, darkest secrets khamoshi se apne pait mein
Of course they are your secret keeper. You feel safe around them because you can trust them with anything and everything.
They make sure to keep doing a ‘follow up’
After THE talk you’ll need to keep checking up on your friend.
Tum theek ho?
Haan (they say ever so meekly)
(Cue your eyebrow raise)
Your problem solving friend can make sure how to deal with all your other friends too
The rest of your friend circle isn’t blind. They know someone is going through something and they also know to ask you about it. Obviously they’re coming from a place of concern, but if you tell them you’ll have to kill them! (not really, please don’t go around murdering people)
Sometimes it all gets too overbearing for your friend
There are times of the year when they’re literally dealing with 18 people and their 134567 problems. They don’t mind, in fact, they love helping their friends out but then they start confusing people and their issues. It takes a toll on their mental capabilities.
Becharay ka bhee khayal karo thora, dosto.
They’re always coming up of ways to distract people from their problems
Let’s go out for lunch? No?
Let’s watch a movie? Nahin?
Let’s print out the faces of the people you hate and throw darts at them? Seriously, no?
I give up!
Sometimes, they don’t have someone to share their feelings with
The only negative to being a problem solver is, they can forget to take care of themselves. They give so much of their heart to others that they have almost very little left for their own self.
But they’ll always feel amazing knowing they’re helping their loved ones out
Now go give your problem solving friend a shoulder to let their feelings out on.
