Time and again, it has been proven that it isn’t easy being a woman in politics. In Pakistan, a woman in politics faces a lot of backlash for following her beliefs. It’s perfectly normal to not follow someones political stance, but do we need to resort to degradation?

Khawaja Asif’s remarks were then condemned by Shireen Mazari herself.

Let’s not forget women in politics degrading other women in politics, too.

As we can see, this goes way back. Women being degraded, slut-shamed, and verbally harassed has a history in Pakistan, hence proven. And recently, Pervaiz Khattak seems to have hopped aboard this atrocious trend.

While speaking to a crowd, Pervaiz Khattak recently made highly degrading statements in his jalsa for the supporters of Pakistan People’s Party.

He was heard slut-shaming women from PPP in a highly shocking video, leaving everyone horrified. He referred to female supporters as ‘tawaif’, while saying more horrendous things alongside. As the video started circulating, people are responding accordingly.

Some are disappointed.

Others consider it to be ‘ghatiya.’

People believe he’s crossed a line.

Some believe he shouldn’t be in the party.

PTI supporters also condemned his statement

They think it’s unacceptable.

And they think the party needs to be careful in the future.
