Pakistanis Are STILL Freaking Out After Earthquake Tremors Jolted The Entire Nation

By Ramsha Bhatti | 2 Feb, 2019

An earthquake has rocked most of Pakistan earlier this evening, while Pakistanis were busy enjoying the weekend.

The tremors were felt in various parts of Pakistan.

A wave of terror has managed to plant the seed of fear among Pakistanis as the country endured earthquake tremors in the later half of today.

Karachi, Islamabad, Lahore, Kohat, Mianwali, and many other areas, primarily in the northern Pakistan region, were jolted by the natural event.

And we weren’t the only ones to experience the horror.

To offer you a silver lining, the tremors were felt in adjacent areas of Pakistan as well.

The epicenter of the earthquake has been claimed to have been the Hindukush region, which means our neighbors were also shaken out of their weekend party plans. Tremors were felt in India and Afghanistan as well.

The Quake was no joke as the readings on the Richter scale were pretty high.

As per Pakistan Meteorological Department’s official statement, the earthquake was of a magnitude of 5.8 on the Richter scale, with a depth of 208 kilometers.

In easier terms, the tremors were of the same strength as those felt back in 2005 after the devastating calamity that struck northern Pakistan. This means that these tremors were no joke.

What’s worse is that this wasn’t the only earthquake Pakistan experienced today.

At around 7:38 am, the first earthquake of the day hit Karachi. Fortunately, the tremors were a meager 2.9 on the Richter scale, which was why most of you Karachiites might not have even felt it.

Needless to say, Pakistanis are freaking out.

2-3 earthquakes in one day is no joke. We haven’t yet fully recuperated from the shocking incidents of 2005, hence we are still sensitive to the entire ordeal.

People are praying for everyone’s safety and showing solitude for the people in the affected areas.

To everyone’s relief, no ones been hurt as of yet. There have been no reports about any casualties or fatalities yet. However, people are still sending prayers for everyone.

Don’t forget to mark yourself “safe” on Facebook, okay?

The news obviously, made it to Twitter. “Earthquake” has been trending since it occurred

Various topics in relation to the earthquake are trending on Twitter as we speak

While the whole of Pakistan is going bonkers over this, there are a few who remain oblivious to the matter.

In all honesty, I’m one of those people who didn’t feel it.

Then there are a few who are linking natural events to politics.

Dunno about the link but okay lol

On a serious note, hope everyone’s safe and doing well. 2019 has started off with a bang, one we could have definitely lived without. Here’s to praying everyone stays safe in these scary times.
