Pakistan beat England by 75 runs in the first test at Lord’s.
During what was a pretty melancholy week, Pakistan’s win over England brings some respite much like a cold air front during a painfully hot summer day. Don’t let the headlines simplify the match for you though, there were a lot of things that made this win over Britain special.
For starters, this celebration. #squadgoals
And this comment from across the border that made many people warm and fuzzy (including us).
Misbah’s century celebration in similar style
Have you ever seen a celebration like this?! #EngvPak https://t.co/bbGH9lfMpG

Fun fact: this was Misbah’s first inning at Lord’s. He is also 42 years old. He also set the record for being oldest cricket captain to score a century. So remember kids, age is just a number.
As this guy obviously knows…
Brilliant play by @captainmisbahpk, once again pulling Pakistan out of a tight spot! Proud of you boys-you can do it! #MisbahulHaq #PAKvENG

The return of Muhammad Amir
Exactly 6 years ago, Pakistan was caught in a spot-fixing scandal at this very ground. And Muhammad Amir was at the very center of what was one of the most embarrassing moments of Pakistani cricket. So, it’s safe to say there was a lot going on in Muhammad Amir’s head.
This video from Patari encapsulates the feeling perfectly.
Oh and to all of you who called for a lifetime ban on Amir: keep your white privilege in check.
Aamir to take the last wicket and win it for Pakistan, win it where it all ended for him 6 years ago. Story of dreams.

Yasir Shah’s 10 wicket overhaul
Interestingly, this was Yasir Shah’s first man of the match performance. Kind of surprising tbh, but hey better late than never.
England: find anything against yasir shah. ANYTHING.

There are moments in life that regardless of your opposing opinions of someone, you cannot help but put down your walls and appreciate the magnificence of what you’ve just experienced. This was the Pakistan cricket team’s moment.
