Malala Yousafzai, Nobel Prize laureate and the Pakistani activist for female education, has spoken about Kashmir for the second time after incessant trolling and criticism. However, now she’s being called an ISI agent by Indians.
She said in her tweet that she had been in touch with people living and working in Kashmir.
In the last week, I’ve spent time speaking with people living and working in #Kashmir – journalists, human rights lawyers and students.

I wanted to hear directly from girls living in Kashmir right now. It took a lot of work from a lot of people to get their stories because of the communications blackout. Kashmiris are cut off from the world and unable to make their voices heard. #LetKashmirSpeak
— Malala (@Malala) September 14, 2019
She narrated the experiences of the residents she talked to
Here is what three girls told me, in their own words: “The best way to describe the situation in Kashmir right now is absolute silence. We have no way of finding out what’s happening to us. All we could hear is the steps of troops outside our windows. It was really scary.”

According to three girls whom she spoke to, “The best way to describe the situation in Kashmir right now is absolute silence. We have no way of finding out what’s happening to us. All we could hear is the steps of troops outside our windows. It was really scary.”
“I feel purposeless and depressed because I can’t go to school. I missed my exams on August 12 and I feel my future is insecure now. I want to be a writer and grow to be an independent, successful Kashmiri woman. But it seems to be getting more difficult as this continues.”

“People speaking out for us adds to our hope. I am longing for the day when Kashmir will be free of the misery we’ve been going through for decades.”

“People speaking out for us adds to our hope. I am longing for the day when Kashmir will be free of the misery we’ve been going through for decades.”
Malala then went on to express her concerns.
I am deeply concerned about reports of 4,000 people, including children, arbitrarily arrested & jailed, about students who haven’t been able to attend school for more than 40 days, about girls who are afraid to leave their homes.

“I am deeply concerned,” she said, “about reports of 4,000 people, including children, arbitrarily arrested & jailed, about students who haven’t been able to attend school for more than 40 days, about girls who are afraid to leave their homes.”
She then urged the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) to work towards peace in Kashmir to provide education and save the future of the youth
I am asking leaders, at #UNGA and beyond, to work towards peace in Kashmir, listen to Kashmiri voices and help children go safely back to school.
— Malala (@Malala) September 14, 2019
People reacted to it in different ways. Some people thanked her.
Thank you for speaking up for us. God bless you.

Thank you for raising your voice for the children abused by #India ! Name it and name the brutal oppressor so the world knows who you are talking about. Don’t hide behind being diplomatic, it won’t get you nowhere as you are not a diplomat.

Thank you @Malala for supporting people of Kashmir and staying true to your values. It takes a lot of courage to stand with the oppressed.@UN #StandwithKashmir #KashmirStillUnderCurfew #Kashmir https://t.co/3v9eeaNOB1

But there was a lot of criticism as well
Previously, Malala received a lot of backlash for her joke about iPhone 11. People criticized her for not raising her voice for Kashmir but being witty at iPhone’s launch. And now, after all the trolling, this was Malala’s SECOND post about the 40-day-long prevailing curfew in Kashmir.
Chalo Meri Video k baad thori sharam tu ayi , phelay hi tweet kardena chahiye tha, you need to do more than one press conference, looking forward for your actions not just tweets, I know you can do better than all of us, so please leave everything and focus on Kashmir
— Waqar Zaka (@ZakaWaqar) September 14, 2019
People were disappointed because they were expecting Malala to raise her voice against the violence in Kashmir on bigger platforms
shukar h Allah ka k ap ko bi khayal aya kashmir ka.
Allah pak ny jin logo ki awaz mai hi power rakhi h wo
apni awaz sy change la sakty hn. @Malala . you can bring change raise your voice. Don't you can see the people are under curfew from over a month. #letkashmirspeak— Sahar Zaman (@SaharZaman4) September 15, 2019
And even though she finally did, Pakistanis felt it was after too long
Bari jaldi yaad aya

@Malala were you hibernating in Alaska after 40 days you have woken up with pain of #Kashmir seriously? Or this is some kind of joke ? Am I dreaming? @Malala finally finishes her silence ? Wow are the gods (west) okay with this?
— Mohsin Faizi (@mohsinfaizi) September 15, 2019
You snooze, you lose! Too late to wake up and smell Kashmir and it’s childrens’ plight. Stay dead, as you’ve been for the last 39 days.
— Zupash Tareen (@TareenZupash) September 15, 2019
People from across the border were enraged
I always feel as @Malala is living a fake life… Thanks to @UN for portraying zero as hero….. She talks about kashmir.. But puts whole banana in her mouth when asked about #Pok and #Balochistan https://t.co/LNvrppg9yp

Here is what three billion people told me, in their own words: "The only reason for giving her the #NobelPeacePrize was to expose the terrorist activity in her county. She #Malala does not deserve the highest prize but a poster girl used by western world to high light terrorism."

They went as far as to call her an ISI agent

Twitter is toxic, as is, but the amount of hate Malala gets is INSANE. She’s more than done her part, yet people are never satisfied. What do you think about Malala tweeting about the Kashmir issue for the second time? Let us know in the comments below.
