LOL, didn’t see that coming but glad it came.
Malala threw shade at the Indian cricket team at the ICC opening ceremony today and honestly, it was pretty epic.
Lol, okay so we all know Malala Yousafzai as the World’s youngest Nobel Peace Prize recipient, humanitarian, an activist for women’s education and overall badass. What we DIDN’T KNOW, was that the girl can trash talk.
Malala took part in a 60-second ‘gully’ challenge during the ceremony in Buckingham Palace after which she was interviewed as a representative of Pakistan. During that interview, Malala said that she was happy with Pakistan’s performance and though they came in seventh place, “India came last!”
Cheeky and spot on as always @Malala! How I love this girl👌😂
"Pakistan we were ok, not too bad-came No 7 but India came last so I think for Pakistan that's what….but India played really well"

LIKE, LOOOOOOL.
And before anyone gets offended, this is Malala we are talking about. The sweet, kind and in no way malicious human we have come to know and love. It was obviously just a joke and a chance for friendly competition between the teams to begin.
Of course, everyone on Twitter pretty much collectively lost their mind at Malala’s remark.
And it’s been hilarious to watch.
Most people found the comments hilarious.
Good start, #Pakistan is already winning. Malala smashing sixes and Safaraz has triggering fools.

You can take a Pakistani out of Pakistan but you can never take the Pakistan out of a Pakistani.
Malala tells the crowd after participating & representing Pakistan in 60 seconds cricket challenge at #CWC19 ceremony,
"We came 7 but India came last"

While others, not so much.
@Malala real world and matches are different. In real matches, Pakistan has always ended behind India. BTW, why not stay in homeland? fearful?

Right. @malala is now just a tool in the hands of her handlers. She does not utter a word on the abduction, forced conversion and marriages of minor girls in Sind by the so called Sufis. Reserves her gyan for India and Indians. Petty and small. https://t.co/ZALqPpN8ex

Anything new. Pakistanis live on hating India. That's their oxygen.

Regardless of opinion, the statement got a ton of laughs in Buckingham Palace and Malala even ended her interview with praises for the Indian team’s performance as well as appreciating their hard work.
You know it’s going to be a great World Cup when you’ve got a Nobel Peace prize winner kicking this off. @Malala spreading the 💞#CWC19 pic.twitter.com/GyfXifqsom

It’s nice to see that amid tensions between the two countries and its history, we can take a break and play a bit of cricket to truly enjoy the nature and merriment of the game. The World Cup kicks off today with a match between England and South Africa and we can’t wait to see what other trash talk Malala has up her sleeve for the remainder of the tournament, hehe.
