While traffic jams are pretty much a norm in Karachi, Lahoris are not habitual to staying on roads for 4 hours straight without moving. However, seems like Lahoris’ happiness was pretty short lived for most of the city right now is going through an intense traffic jam right now. It’s speculated that two rallies led by Tehreek Labbaik Ya Rasolallah and Islam Bachao Tehreek have overtaken the roads in Lahore and are protesting against Imran Khan, Salman Taseer and basically everyone else who do not conform to their definition of a true Muslim.
A colossal number of Lahoris are, therefore, stuck in the traffic jam right now because the Punjab Government could not think of a better way to deal with the situation, other than the containerization of the city. The consequent rage can be seen on social media:
Some of them are pretty clueless as to what exactly is happening in city. To be honest, so are we.
Whats happening in #Lahore. The entire city is suffering a massive traffic jam?

While some good-hearted souls are doing what the government needs to be doing that is providing updates on alternative routes
#Traffic update for #Lahore – please be safe, government sanctioned warriors of religion are out and about today spreading their joy. pic.twitter.com/CbzUsHihq8
