The Karachi Eat Festival began yesterday but it wasn’t good news for everyone. While foodies all across Karachi were keeping their stomachs empty for the event, some were in for a rude shocker as they proceeded to buy tickets for the event.
The organisation of the festival decided to implement a ‘families only’ policy which wasn’t, well, very inclusive of families.
Men all over the country, especially in Karachi, lost it a bit, and started ranting at the management of the event.
While a festival is supposed to be for the whole city, people weren’t really happy with the terms and conditions.
One Arsenal fan is certain there is a bigger agenda behind this. Yahoodi saazish, I tell you, yahoodi saazish.
One gentleman was sure that it’s all because bik gayi hai gormint
This guy has some suggestions for next year’s Karachi Eat
There were those who didn’t like to beat around the bush
Some were expressing their concerns just to support their bhai who were being discriminated against, even though they had ladiss with them
This woman’s helping the festival (and men) by clarifying the definition of “family”

So basically, the food festival has now been postponed till Sunday morning and will resume if weather conditions permit, according their Facebook page.

All in all, as a girl, having been at the receiving end of restrictive policies in many, many places, I’m surprised at the stringent families only policy, where brothers and father-son duos aren’t allowed in, either.
