It Rained In Karachi Yesterday But The City Legit Couldn't Handle It

By Rameeza Ahmad | 30 Jul, 2019

It has been raining non-stop in Karachi and everyone is begging for it to end.

All year round, everyone makes fun of Karachiites being tarsay hue for baarish. And of course, when it finally does rain in the city, it pours and most of the times, the city’s infrastructure cannot handle the crazy amounts of rain it tends to get.

A few people tend to still look on the bright side.

But most people are just upset about the rain after a while since it leads to half of the city being water clogged.

The rain even wreaked havoc on the city’s electrical grids and transformers.

With half the city submerged in water and some parts of it on fire, Karachiites were incredibly upset at the government for being unable to handle crises like these. And since the monsoon season is expected every year, it is clearly negligent of them to have not made changes to infrastructure beforehand to account for it.

And no one is ever ready to shoulder the responsibility for the city.

It is honestly heartbreaking to see Karachi become paralyzed because of rain. The responsibility is always shoved off to the new government or another department or official body. Yet, little is done towards actually improving things.

What do you think about the rain situation in Karachi? Let us know in the comments below.
