College isn’t easy all the time. And having people constantly criticize you for your choice of major doesn’t help. Let’s be real, how many of us ACTUALLY know what we want to do after college especially before we even start? For many people, their decisions are influenced by family and friends. But not
But not everyone wants to be a doctor or an engineer. Some of us may aspire to be writers, marketers, artists or even teachers. Some of us may not even know what we want to do and college is the opportunity to figure that out. Better during college than a mid-life crisis right?
So yesterday, a Facebook post by Kashaf Ali began making rounds on the internet. In her post, she summarizes what someone has to deal with as a BBA student. The original post has been reproduced below. But here’s the low down.
You only do a BBA if you didn’t get good marks on your Inter.
Anyone can do a BBA, implying that you’re not THAT intelligent.
You can’t do anything practical with a BBA.
You’re only doing it because you’re not good at Science subjects.

Girls shouldn’t be studying business. If you couldn’t get into Med School, you should simply opt for Pharmacy School.
Being a doctor is something to be proud of, even if you’re still making gol gol rotis and not practicing.
BBA is a waste of money…because who needs a degree to run a business?
And yet, people will still come up to you to ask for favors, such as but not limited to:
“Application likhdo.”
“Hamaare bete ko IBA k test k liye parhado, bus do chaar din toh lagenge.”
“Main apne business ko online market karna chah raha tha, digital marketing techniques sikhado. (Aray uncle, don’t worry or ask me, in cheezo ko parhne ki koi zaroorat nahi)”
“Falan stock khareedlun, paise toh nahi gar jayenge?”
“Hamaari baji ki cousin ki beti ka assignment kardo.”
“Salary negotiate karna sikhado.”
“Job advice dedo.”
“Hamaara bacha writing/ public speaking nai kar paata, usko likhna/ bolna/ zindagi jeena sikhado.”
Every individual has their own priorities and preferences. Just because someone else’s version of the world doesn’t necessarily correlate with ours shouldn’t be reason to make fun of or criticize someone else. So, if you’re doing a BBA or any other degree of your choice that people mock, ignore the haters. Your happiness is defined by you, not others. And remember….haters gon’ hate.
