Here's How You Can Change Your Profile Picture to the Pakistan Flag

By Aam Nawab | 28 Mar, 2016

Lahore is still coming to grips with the calamity that struck last night. According to Dawn News, atleast 70 people were killed and many more injured. It shouldn’t come as a surprise that the attack was claimed by a faction of the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan.

The attack happened just outside of the exit gate, a few feet away from children’s swings. Think about that for a moment. On one side, you have the most innocent thing in life; the joy of a child from riding a swing. And on the other stands a deranged lunatic who for some reason believes that this joy should not exist. That in its place, fear should rein supreme.

Yeah, pretty fucked up.

Now of course, condemnations have started pouring in from around the world. People are doing their part to express solidarity with Lahore in the aftermath of the attack. However, let’s remember that international media has a tendency to not give as much attention to terrorist attacks that happen on this side of the world. So one very small thing you can do is add the Pakistani flag to your Facebook profile picture. If you’re thinking this is very trivial, you should know that it still helps. Because something this small and trivial is a sign of solidarity, and in times like these, solidarity is one of the best ways to fight against fear.

Once there, set the “Choose your country” option to Pakistan and click the big blue Facebook button below.

Just a heads up, you’ll need to allow the app to access information from your Facebook page. One you do, the app should then generate your profile picture with Pakistan’s flag on it.

After that, you just need to save the picture and upload it to your Facebook account as you would for any other picture.

The people of Lahore are resilient and will come out of this stronger than before

Already, people are flocking to hospitals to donate their blood to the victims and help in every way that they can. Because that’s how Lahoris are, they always overcompensate.
